The MSc.CCAFS is an interdisciplinary, English language 1-year course aimed at students with diverse backgrounds with a strong interest in climate change impacts and who want to develop scientific, environmental, engineering, technical, social or policy skills for careers in climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The course has a strong track record of helping graduates into employment in the environmental, agricultural and biotech sectors, and into PhD scholarships, and won GradIreland’s ‘BEST NEW COURSE’ award at the 2016 HEA Postgraduate Awards.
In the MSc.CCAFS, students combine taught modules, including transferrable skills and science communication, with a 30 ECTS Research Thesis. The course is a partnership with the international CGIAR Research Programme on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (www.ccafs.cgiar.org) and many students carry out their research with partner organisations in Latin America, Asia, Africa and other parts of Europe.
